Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan believes that Kailash Vijayvargiya has an eye on his job, being a six-time MLA and having been number two in the state cabinet till he was made party general secretary thanks to his closeness to party president Amit Shah. So he may like to send him off to the Rajya Sabha from the seat in MP vacated by Najma Heptulla and resign from the state Assembly seat.
Chouhan's fears have been aroused because of the way Vijayvargiya has been taking his government to task. Recently, he regretted the delay in starting a metro line in Indore. To this state party president, Nandkumar Chauhan responded by saying that general secretaries should stick to issues concerning the party organisation and not interfere in the state. Vijayvargiya retorted that a state leader should not counter a national general secretary.
