New Delhi (29.04.2021): Central PSUs have been making stellar contributions to supporting, funding, and ensuring the adequate supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to fight the Xi Jinping Covid 19 virus. Their contributions are listed below: Leading the CPSU pack, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has supplied over 41,000 tons of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO). It has geared up to supply more than 900 tons per day. Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has taken up the job of LMO supply of 22 cubic meters per day from its Bhopal and Haridwar units. Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has supplied 1,300 tons of LMO. Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL) is setting up Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Generation Plants at 10 locations. Indian Oil (IOCL) is supplying oxygen to hospitals in Delhi, Haryana & Punjab by converting unused LNG Tankers into Oxygen carriers and diverting new LNG Tankers for oxygen supply. Coal India (CIL) has scaled up the supply of Emergency utility equipment with over 1400 Oxygen cylinders. Cochin Shipyard has helped set up Centralised Oxygen Distribution Facilities at 5 Government Hospitals in Kerala. Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is setting up oxygen generation plants in 12 Government hospitals across 6 states. Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) will fund the procurement and installation of medical Oxygen plants in Government Hospitals in Mumbai. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is providing Oxygen points and ventilators at Bengaluru and Lucknow. Power Finance Corporation (PFC) is providing financial assistance for Oxygen Plants, oxygen pipelines & cylinders. Sutlej Jal Vikas Nigam Ltd (SJVN) is supplying ventilators to hospitals in Shimla, Rampur, and Khaneri. NLC India has doubled oxygen beds to 100 Nos. at its hospitals. Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF) is in the process of installing a PSA-based Oxygen plant.
