Following the appointment of Vivek Johri and Mrs Sungita Sharma as Member in the Central Board of Customs & Indirect Taxes (CBIC) in the first week of August; the Department of Revenue on Friday notified the allocation of charge, work and jurisdiction of the four Board Members as follows:

M Ajit Kumar (IRS C&CE:1984) - Chairman, All Members

Sandeep Mohan Bhatnagar (IRS C&CE:1984) - Member, Customs and Investigation

Ajai Jain (IRS C&CE:1985) - Member, Legal, CX, ST

Vivek Johri (IRS C&CE:1985) -Member- GST, IT, Tax Policy

Mrs Sungita Sharma (IRS C&CE:1986) - Member, Admin & Vigilance

It may be underlined that the CBIC is headed by a Chairman and has six members in addition to the Chairman whereas two Member-level posts are currently vacant in CBIC.
