The NaMo administration on Monday cleared the appointment of three new Board Members in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) namely; Ajay Jain (IRS C&CE:1985); Vivek Johri (IRS C&CE:1985) and Ms. Sungita Sharma (IRS C&CE:1986). CBIC is the top policy-making body for indirect taxes. Presently, M Ajith Kumar (IRS C&CE:1984) is heading the Board as Chairman. The Board comprises a Chairperson and a maximum of six members.
