New Delhi (12.12.2025): The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) is poised for a significant leadership expansion as the Selection Committee has finalized dates for personal interactions with 15 senior Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officers shortlisted for the three vacant Member posts on the Board.

The Selection Committee meetings have been scheduled for December 29, 2025, and January 2, 2026. In line with selection norms, which mandate calling five candidates for interaction for every one vacant post, the Government of India is set to onboard three new Members to the CBIC—a crucial body for indirect tax collection and policy formulation—just ahead of the Union Budget 2026 presentation.

The development is being closely watched, particularly within the service, as only 15 candidates were shortlisted from the pool of officers from the 1990, 1991, and 1992 batches who have at least one year of residual service. Interestingly, some of them have residual service till 2023.

The 15 officers called for interaction include:

1990 Batch: Raj Kumar, Valte Vungzamuan

1991 Batch: Prachi Saroop, Rimjhim Prasad, Rajesh Jindal, Mayank Kumar, Arti A Srinivas, Shailendra Kumar Sinha.

1992 Batch: Abhai Kumar Srivastav, S K Vimalanathan, Vimal Kumar Srivastava, Sanjay Mangal, Sunil Jain, Anuj Gogia, Kajal Singh
