New Delhi (04.09.2024): The CBI has filed a chargesheet against a former Deputy Commissioner from Arunachal Pradesh Padma Jaiswal (IAS: 2003: AGMUT) and two others for allegedly withdrawing government funds and using them to purchase properties in the name of her relatives.

At present, she is posted as a secretary in the Puducherry government. After clearance from the state and Central Government, the CBI had registered and launched the probe into allegations that the then DC, “abused her official position by corrupt and illegal means, withdrew cash from government account for personal purposes, prepared Demand Drafts and remitted the amount to the accounts of private individuals, payable at SBI, Chandigarh.”
