New Delhi (11.03.2024): Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), one of the most vexed issues in India, is likely to be notified by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) today. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been reiterating almost on every news channel that it would be notified before elections are announced. Official announcement is expected anytime soon. But the timing is going to serve twin purpose as the issue will shadow Electoral Bond issue on which the government seems to be on backfoot and polarise a section of voters in certain states of the country.
