New Delhi (18.10.2025): In a significant development for the Indian Economic Service (IES) cadre, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has given its nod for the empanelment of seven officers to the Senior Administrative Grade (SAG), carrying the pay scale of Level 14, for the year 2025.
The promotions mark a key career progression for these economists serving in various government departments.
The officers approved for the SAG empanelment are:

- Bhumika Verma (IES: 2007)
- Swayamprava Pani (IES: 2007)
- Prasanth Chandran (IES: 2007)
- Mukesh Kumar (IES: 2007)
- Urmila (IES: 2007)
- Praveen Kumar (IES: 2007)
Madanpal Singh Faces Setback:
While seven officers celebrate their elevation, Madanpal Singh has faced a notable setback. Singh, an IES officer, was not empanelled for the promotion to the Senior Administrative Grade by the ACC.
Sources suggest that such denials often stem from various administrative reasons, including pending vigilance clearances, adverse entries in Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs), or ongoing departmental inquiries. However, the specific reasons for Madanpal Singh's non-empanelment were not immediately clear at the time of reporting.
