Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Monday confirmed the news in Hubballi that these leaders may contest elections, but it is yet to be decided from which constituencies.
There has been speculation that Nirmala, who has been nominated to the Rajya Sabha from Karnataka, may contest from Tamil Nadu or Karnataka while Jaishankar could contest elections either from Tamil Nadu or Karnataka or Delhi. Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting L Murugan may also be fielded from Tamil Nadu.
Jaishankar is visiting Hubballi tomorrow to interact with intellectuals, industrialists, students and leading personalities on the 10-year performance of the Narendra Modi government and is releasing a booklet on the achievements of Joshi, who is a four-time MP from Dharwad.
