4295To expedite the government’s plan on employment to people of Jammu and Kashmir, former chief secretary of the state B R Sharma (IAS:1984:J&K) has been appointed as chairman of the union territory’s public service commission. Sharma will be chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) till the age of 62 years. He was appointed chief secretary in 2015 by the then chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed bypassing four officers. He was shifted to the Centre in 2017 to make way for the elevation of B B Vyas as chief secretary by the government led by her daughter a PDP-BJP coalition government. Sharma was appointed SSC Chairman in October 2019. On April 20, 2020 he was again made Chairman SSC for two more years up to April 30, 2022, post his retirement on April 30. ALSO READ:

To expedite the government’s plan on employment to people of Jammu and Kashmir, former chief secretary of the state B R Sharma (IAS:1984:J&K) has been appointed as chairman of the union territory’s public service commission. Sharma will be chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) till the age of 62 years.
