Bhopal: To make lives of poor better and strengthen them, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has re-launched Sambal Yojana by transferring an amount of Rs 41.33 crore to the accounts of its beneficiaries directly.
The previous Congress government had discontinued the scheme, so the government decided to re-launched it. Cards of the scheme that had been canceled could now be used once again. The chief minister said, “When I was the CM, I launched Sambal Yojana which is not just a scheme, it is supported to the poor, the future of children, the faith of the elderly and the empowerment of women. Due to resources in possession of some people, they became rich but a large population remained poor. Through Sambal Yojana, we are meting out justice to the same population. We collect tax from rich and provide facilities to the poor, this is social justice.”
On May 5, 2020 the CM gave ex-gratia assistance of Rs 33.16 crore to 1698 beneficiaries of normal death, Rs 8.16 crore to 204 beneficiaries of accidental death and Rs 1 lakh to one beneficiary of partial permanent disability. Chouhan transferred the amount in the accounts of total 1903 beneficiaries directly.
The CM said that Sambal Yojana was started in April 2018. An amount of Rs 703 crore was spent in the year 2018-19 for its implementation. “We have revived the scheme on April 20, 2020 and deposited Rs 41 crore in the account of the beneficiaries in just 15 days. “Sambal Yojana” Zindagi ke Pehle, Zindagi ke Baad.”
