New Delhi (13.07.2022): If some well-placed sources are to be believed Alok Shukla (IRS C&IT:1988) is one of the serious contenders for the Member post in CBIC. Shukla has been working as Principal DG of the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) since April 01, 2022. It may be underlined that the Department of Revenue has rolled out the process for selection of Member, CBIC. Of four members scheduled to retire in the next seven months only two posts may be filled up. Member DP Nagendra Kumar (IRS C&IT:1985) is retiring this month, Balesh Kumar (IRS C&IT:1987) in August, and Sandeep Kumar in October this year. The fourth post (Member, Investigation) will falls vacant on the retirement of Mrs Sungeeta Sharma in January 2023.
