IAS officers (belonging to 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989 & 1990 batch) empanelled on July 19 this year to hold Additional Secretary level posts are keenly awaiting their postings. Reportedly, NaMo administration is expected to clear the appointments this week. It is learnt that over half a dozen officers would be appointed in-situ as Additional Secretary in the respective departments and ministries in Govt of India. Officers in reckoning are Sudhanshu Pandey (IAS:1988:J&K), Lok Ranjan (IAS:1989:TR), Atul Kumar Tiwari (IAS:1990:KN), Govind Mohan (IAS:1989:SK) and Ms Alka Tiwari (IAS:1988:JH).

It may be mentioned that Sudhanshu Pandey is serving as Joint Secretary in Department of Commerce, Lok Ranjan is Joint Secretary in DOPT, Atul Kumar Tiwari is Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles whereas Govind Mohan and Ms Alka Tiwari are Joint Secretary in MHA and Fertilizers respectively.

Altogether 96 IAS officers were empanelled to hold Additional Secretary or equivalent posts in Govt of India on July 19, 2018.
