New Delhi (07.08.2025): If some well-placed sources are to
be believed, a Parliamentarian has initiated the process of raising question in
Parliament citing recent selection interviews for CMDs in CPSEs under Power and
Oil ministries in particular. The way PESB in recent past asked the concerned ministries
of the important Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) to take
Search-cum-Selection Committee route for selection of its top leadership, many
concern and questions popped up. If over a dozen people interviewed and
rejected, do these organisations have real dearth of talent or this is an
attempt of passing the buck or something else. The gravity of the matter is
such that it has been taken up in Parliament with questions like ‘what steps
are being taken to strengthen the internal talent pool and nurture the future
leadership within CPSEs’ and ‘if the government intends to review the existing
selection process for CMDs of CPSEs to ensure greater transparency and
predictability.’
