The NaMo administration on Monday
cleared the empanelment of 1986 batch (left overs) and 1987 batch Indian
Revenue Service (Income Tax) officers
for promotion to the grade of Chief Commissioner of Income Tax in the Indian Revenue
Service (Income Tax) for the Panel Years 2018 (Supplementary Panel) and 2019
(Regular Panel). Supplementary Panel for Yr 2018: Extended Panel
(to be operated in the event officers included in the regular panel/extended
panel are not becoming available for promotion due to away on
deputation/retirement during the vacancy year 2019): Further, as proposed by the Department of Revenue, the ACC
approved the non-empanelment of 03 officers against the stated panel years: Keeping the
recommendations of the DPC for the Panel Year 2019 in respect of the 03
following officers in sealed covers: Further, the ACC notification underlines that in the instant
case, the recommendations of the DPC in respect of three officers have been kept
in sealed covers, further, the Department have not kept vacancies in reserve to
consider K Timothy Zimik, Pramod Kumar Srivastava and Avinash Kishore Sahay,
whose empanelment for promotion to the grade of CCIT for the panel year 2018
had earlier been deferred by the ACC. It also states that promotion of the 06 junior most officers
may be considered on Ad-hoc basis till the aforesaid sealed cover
cases/deferred cases are finalised, or subsequent regular vacancies in the
Grade arise, whichever is earlier.
