New Delhi (04.04.2022): 

• AAP’s govt in Punjab may cast a shadow on Delhi bureaucracy. People in power corridors foresee a twist in some top-level posts in Delhi and Punjab.
• External Affairs Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla (IFS:1984) is set to retire this month. It is to be watched whether Shringla gets an extension in service or the Govt picks another ace diplomat as India’s new FS.
• In the context of NITI Aayog's brand value, a group of officers in a social gathering underlined that the success rate of personal recommendations made to the top authorities and executives across the private sector has a far better success rate than the one made by the officials in the ministries and departments. No to mention the officials were discussing Amitabh Kant’s contribution to adding brand value to NITI Aayog.         
• If some well-placed sources are to be believed the ACC may soon clear the appointment of Pushp Kumar Joshi (Director- HR in HPCL) as the new CMD of HPCL.
• In Delhi’s bureaucratic parlance it is discussed these days that the outgoing Delhi Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Dev (IAS:1987:UT) is the last powerful Chief Secretary of Delhi. Following the unification of three civic bodies (SDMC, NDMC & East Delhi Municipal Corporation) Municipal Corporation Commissioner will have more power and privileges than the Delhi CS.   
• Power corridors are abuzz that a powerful union minister is unhappy with a powerful CMD of a powerful PSU in the non-renewable energy sector.
• The additional charge of the post of CVO, New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) to S Murali Krishnan (IDAS:2005) may be extended for a further period of six months. Presently he is CVO Chennai Port Trust.
