New Delhi (25.12.2021): The Union Home Secretary has approved the appointment of Manoj Malaviya, a 1986 batch IPS officer, as the Director-General of Police (DGP) of West Bengal. Manoj Malviya was serving as acting DGP of West Bengal, as the union home ministry had not accorded approval to this post.
Now, union home secretary Ajay Bhalla on Friday has given approval for the appointment of Manoj Malviya for the position of DGP, this approval has reached the state government. Malaviya was promoted as a DGP in 2017 and is set to retire in 2023.
