The Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation will organize on Wednesday evening June 22, 2016, at 6:00 pm at the Stein Auditorium, Habitat World, Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi a function to felicitate WAPCOS for successful completion of Afghan - India Friendship Dam (Salma Dam). The dam was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the President of Afghanistan at Herat on June 4, 2016.
WAPCOS Head of Corporate Communications C. P. Arora said in a statement that that Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj will be the chief guest at the function. Engineer Ali Ahmad Osmani, Afghanistan Minister for Energy and Water, will be a special guest and Minister of state for water resources, Prof Sanwar Lal Jat, will be the guest of honor.
