New Delhi (27.08.2024): With a new Union Home Secretary at the helm, the AGMUT Cadre officers are curious about developments that are set to unfold any time soon specially officers, who have completed three or more years in UTs like A&N, Puducherry, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram etc and waiting for posting orders. AGMUT Cadre officials are constantly looking at developments unfolding under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which is the Cadre controlling authority.
One among several such issues which has made them anxious is preferential treatment as the Tenure Policy and the Rotational Transfer Policy decide the norm and not exceptions. It is the exception that fuels gossip, smells a rat, and makes news. Taking a look at transfers and postings, there are cases where a few individuals and a couple-officers have been placed in Delhi, either in Delhi Police or in Central Police Organisations, for over five and up seven years and in certain cases for more than a decade. In some cases, over-stay in a particular place of posting is in sync with the tenure policy while in other cases it appears to be violating policies and provisions pertaining of transfer and posting.
