up-ias-association-wants-rules-be-rehashed-for-central-deputationUttar Pradesh IAS Association has, reportedly, written to the Centre seeking an amendment in its policy of IAS officers at the rank of Additional Secretary and Secretary. Irked over the delay in recommending names of civil servants, the Executive Committee of the association had decided to raise and pursue the issue with the Centre. The Association has shot a letter to DoPT claiming adverse impact on their career prospects caused due to inordinate delay in forwarding names for Central deputation on JS-level posts. As per the rules of Personnel Department (DoPT), an IAS officer should have at least three years of experience on Jt Secretary rank post at Centre to become eligible for the appointment at the level of Additional Secretary. It may be mentioned that most of the states are running short of IAS officers, prompting them to delay or deny them NoC for central deputation which eventually hampers their prospects to get empanelled for Additional Secretary and Secretary at Centre.
