Thiruvananthapuram (09.07.2025): Immediately after the repatriation to home cadre from Central Deputation, Minhaj Alam (IAS: 1996: KL) has been appointed as Principal Secretary, Forest and Wildlife Department. The officer will hold the full additional charges of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Museum (Zoo), Sainik Welfare and Minority Welfare Departments.

Sources say that entrustment of the portfolio like Forest & Environment in the poll bound state means something extraordinary being given to any officer. It is quite challenging assignment ahead of Assembly elections.
