Union secretaries for Pharma & Panchayati Raj take charge

New Delhi (01.11.2023): Following the superannuation of Union Pharmaceuticals Secretary S Aparna (IAS:1988:GJ) and Panchayati Raj Secretary Sunil Kumar (IAS:1987:UP) on 31 October the new secretaries take charge. 
Former Mines Secretary Vivek Bhardwaj (IAS: 1990: WB) takes over as Secretary in the Department of Panchayati Raj whereas Arunish Chawla (IAS: 1992: BH) succeeds S Aparna as the new Pharmaceuticals Secretary. Bhardwaj has tenure in service till July 2026 whereas Chawla will serve as Union Secretary till July 2028. 
It may be underlined that over a period of time the New Delhi establishment has started filling the scheduled vacancies well in advance and while doing so it appointed Bharadwaj was appointed as OSD in Panchayati Raj on 31 August whereas Chawla was picked as OSD in Pharma w.e.f. 01.10.2023.
