Udham Singh Nagar District Magistrate Akshat Gupta (IAS:2006:UD) passed away after he suffered a heart attack on Sunday (June 05, 2016) in Noida where his parent lived. 39 year old Akshat is survived by his 2005 batch IPS wife Ridhim Agrawal and two children. Prior to his posting as the DM of Udham Singh Nagar Akshat Gupta had served as the District Magistrate of Almora and Nainital as well. Gupta was recently transferred as the Managing Director of Uttarakhand Roadways Corporation but he was yet to take charge. Uttarakhand Governor K K Paul, Chief Minister Harish Rawat and Chief Secretary Shatrughna Singh too expressed grief at the demise of Gupta, terming it as a big loss for the state. Prayer meeting will be held on June 8 at 7 pm at Chinmay Mission Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
