Axis Bank's corporate banking head Sidharth Rath and deputy MD V. Srinivasan have resigned. Their resignations have come at a time when the third largest private sector bank is hit by the issues of asset quality. Recently, RBI imposed a fine of Rs3 crore on the bank for flouting NPA norms.
Rath's exit follows the hiring of S M Sundaresan (Head of Corporate banking at Standard Chartered) as head of corporate banking at Axis Bank. Rath is now likely to join Standard Chartered as head of corporate banking in Sundaresan's place.
