Alok Sharma (IPS:1991:UP) and S. Suresh (IPS:1995:KL) have been appointed to the post of Inspector General in Special Protection Group on lateral shift basis.
These posts were temporarily upgraded from DIG to IG level for a period of two years.
Currently both officers serve with Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) as IG.
