New Delhi (16.09.2024): The Andhra Pradesh government has suspended three IPS officers for their alleged involvement in wrongful arrest and harassment of Mumbai-based actor-model Kadambari Jethwani without conducting proper investigation.

The three officers -- a DG rank officer P Sitharama Anjaneyulu (IPS: 1992: AP), IG rank officer Kranti Rana Tata (IPS: 2004: AP) and SP rank officer Vishal Gunni (IPS: 2010: AP) -- have been suspended after an was conducted in this regard. Sources said that enquiry revealed that Anjaneyulu had instructed the two officers to arrest the woman even before FIR was filed. The FIR was registered on February 2 while the instruction to arrest her was allegedly made on January 31.

Jethwani had filed a complaint in August with NTR Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu accusing these officers of conspiring with a YSR Congress Party leader and film producer KVR Vidyasagar who had filed a forgery and extortion case against her in February.
