New Delhi (20.12.2023): Amid several Director General level posts lying vacant in Central Paramilitary Forces and Central Police Organisations another DG-level post is also scheduled to fall vacant in next few days.
The fourth DG-level post is scheduled to fall vacant with the superannuation of Mohammad Taj Hasan (IPS: 1987: UT), considered as one of the finest officers in AGMUT Cadre. Hasan, the incumbent DG of Fire Services, Civil Defence and Home Guard will be hanging his boots in the end of this month. Appointment of regular DG in the CISF and CRPF is still awaited whereas the key post of DG (Investigation) in NHRC has been lying vacant since 01.08.2023. The NHRC key post fell vacant after Manoj Yadava (IPS: 1988:HY) was in the mid of February moved from NHRC to Railway Protection Force as DG w.e.f. 01.08.2023.
Further, in power corridors it is often discussed that the post of Director, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) is considered an ADG rank post which is often elevated to DG rank post. After the retirement of A Seema Rajan (IPS: 1987: BH) on 28.02.2023 the then IG Amit Garg (IPS: 1993) was drafted as the head of the institution as Additional Director in the rank of ADG.
It may be underlined that post security lapse incident in Parliament last week senior officials across services and batches have been watchful of key vacancies at senior level positions.
Ahead of retirement of Mohammad Taj Hasan a section of insiders believes that the Centre may soon announce the appoint of regular DGs in CISF, CRPF, Fire Service & Civil Defence and probably in the NHRC as well.
