The battle for the Tararia assembly constituency in Bihar has taken an interesting turn with Indu Bhushan Singh, son of murdered Ranvir Sena chief Brahmeshwar Singh Mukhia, announcing his decision to contest from there against Geeta Pandey, wife of local don Sunil Pandey who is said to have masterminded Mukhia's murder. Tararia falls under the Ara Parliamentary constituency that elected former Home Secretary and BJP Lok Sabha MP Raj Kumar Singh. A week ago, the former Home Secretary had stated that his party had sold tickets to criminals, implying that the Tararia seat, among others, was conceded to the LJP to accommodate Sunil Pandey. The BJP MP is widely seen to be close to the family of the slain Ranvir Sena chief, who was hugely popular with farmers across all castes and communities. Indu Bhushan, like his father, has been working among the farmers of the state and is president of the Akhil Bhartiya Kisan Sangathan.
