External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's absence from Monday's review meeting on the Uri attack, chaired by the PM, became a matter of intense speculation in the power corridors. Since she was the only minister in the top four who didn't attend the meeting, many wondered whether the PM has dropped diplomatic measures out of the way to deal with Uri crisis. It was later clarified that Sushma may address the UN General Assembly in New York next week, and respond there to Pak PM Nawaz Sharief' stand on Kashmir and terrorism.
