Suresh Kumar (IAS:JK:1986) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence. After Mufti Government had affected its first major bureaucratic reshuffle I March this year Suresh Kumar was made DG, Institute of Management & Public Administration and Rural Development. He had been trying for over year to move at centre. Previously he handled the crucially important department as ACS, Home in J&K.
In his new stint at centre Suresh Kumar replaces Himanshu Kumar (IAS:UP:1990) as JS, Defence. In his first stint at centre in Feb 2004 he was Director, HRD (Dept of School Education & Literacy).
