Five IAS officers currently serving as GoI's Additional Secretary have earned the Special Secretary rank (In-situ) within weeks of their empanelment to hold 'Secretary Equivalent' posts in GoI. They are Pritam Singh (lAS:1984:RJ)- Director General, National Archives; Brij Raj Sharma (lAS:1984:JK) - Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs; Jaideep Govind (lAS:1984:MP)- Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs; Roulkhumlein Buhril (lAS:1984:TN)- Adviser and Additional Secretary, Inter-State Council Secretariat; and N. Sivasailam (lAS:1985:KN)- Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications.
