Dr. U.D. Choubey, Director General of SCOPE, has emphasized the need for setting up at least 10 new grass-root mega fertilizer plants to meet the current 42 percent deficit of urea, which is being bridged through imports. He did this while speaking on September 28 at a function organized to release a special issue of KALEIDOSCOPE, which is a journal on fertilizer industry.
Earlier SCOPE Chairman and CMD of Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd (RCF) R.G. Rajan released the special Issue of the Journal in the presence of S. Venkateswar, CMD of Projects & Development India Ltd (PDIL), Capt. P.K. Kaul, Director (Marketing) of National Fertilizers Ltd and a large number of senior executives of CPSEs, besides Dr Choubey.
