Mumbai (09.12.2024): Shrikar Pardeshi (IAS: 2001: MH) has been appointed as the secretary to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The order has come just two days after Fadnavis took charge as the chief minister. Pardeshi served as secretary of Fadnavis during his two-and-a-half years as Deputy Chief Minister in the Mahayuti. 
Pardeshi as an IAS officer drew lot of acclaim for the tough way in which he handled the issue of illegal constructions in Pimpri-Chinchwad. During his tenure about 10 years back, his PCMC administration demolished nearly 500 illegal constructions which included those of top politicians from different parties. He had earned the nickname, Demolition Man. Though the city started breathing freely and development got a push, some quarters did not like his initiatives. As a result, he had received a slew of threat to his life. However, Pardeshi remained undeterred and carried on with his drive.
