The newly-appointed BJP government in Madhya Pradesh has altered the order and stopped the implementation of DA hike given by the outgoing Congress government on March 16, a few days before it fell on March 20. The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government on April 1, 2020 ordered stopping the DA implementation that was to come into effect from July 1, 2020. The Kamal Nath government had issued an order increasing DA of employees by five percent. The Congress criticized the move and said the party would agitate if the BJP government did not pull back its “dictatorial” order. He tweeted: “This was a historic decision which was welcomed by lakhs of employees of the state. But the Shivraj Singh government stopped the implementation of this order.” Meanwhile, the BJP called it an appropriate decision and said the BJP government’s priority at the moment was to fight the novel coronavirus outbreak.
