
New Delhi (05.01.2024): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Friday cleared the appointment of seven officers to Foreign and Captive posts of the Government of India. The list of newly appointed officers goes as follows:
- Vikas Sheel (IAS: 1994: CG) was appointed as Executive Director, Asian Development Bank in Manila (Philippines) for a period of three years. Currently, he is Additional Secretary and Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission under the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation ( Ministry of Jal Shakti).
- Senthil Pandian C (IAS: 2002: UP) was appointed as Permanent Representative of India to the World Trade Organization (WTO), Geneva. Pandian replaces Brajendra Navnit (IAS: 1999: TN) completing his three years tenure 31.03.2024. The Joint Secretary level post in the Permanent Mission of India (Geneva) functions under the Department of Commerce.
- Dr M Balaji (IAS: 2005: TN) was appointed to the post of Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Brussels for a period of three years. Balaji replaces Debasish Prusty (IAS: 2000: RJ) who will be completing his tenure on 31.03.2024.The Joint Secretary level post functions under Department of Commerce.
- Parveen Kumar (IRS IT: 2004) was appointed as Adviser to the Executive Director International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington DC, USA for a period of three years. Kumar replaces Simanchala Dash (IRS IT:1988). The Joint Secretary level a Captive Post of Govt of India functions under the Department of Economic Affairs .
- Smita Sarangi (IAS: 2008: NL) was appointed as Adviser to the Executive Director Asian Development Bank, Manila (Philippines) for a period of three years, a Captive Post of Govt of India, under Department of Economic Affairs. She replaces H Atheli (ICAS: 2000) at the level of Director.
- Kalyan Revella (IRS C&IT: 2010) was appointed as Counsellor (Economic), Embassy of India in Beijing for a period of three years vice Lekhan Thakkar (CSS). Currently, Revella is working as Deputy Secretary, Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM), under DPIIT, Mumbai. The Foreign Post of Govt of India, in Beijing, functions under the Department of Economic Affairs.
- Tanu Singh (Indian Trade Service: 2012) was appointed to the post of First Secretary, Permanent Mission of India (PMI), World Trade Organization (Geneva) for a period of three years. The Foreign Post of Govt of India under the Department of Commerce. Tanu Singh, currently Deputy Secretary in the Department of Justice, replaces Anwar Hussain Shaik (IRTS: 1999) who is completing his tenure on 31.03.2024.
