The ongoing process of search for the successor of A K Balyan (MD & CEO for LNG Petronet) has reportedly been cancelled. The final selection was expected to complete by third week of April but the entire process seems to have been cancelled midway and the post may be re-advertised shortly. In fact, the applications were invited on March 03, it lasted on March 20 and approximately 13 short-listed aspirants were called for interview on March 30. While examining the recommended names on April 25 the Board of LNG Petronet stalled the process raising questions over the process and its transparency. The incumbent MD & CEO A K Balyan is completing his five years tenure on July 16 this year whereas his appointment condition had made him eligible for extention till he attained 65 yrs age on July 2016. But the Ministry of P&NG denied him extension beyond July 2015 and proceeded for fresh selection. The latest development has shattered the chances that were selected in interview on March 30. So far as 13 candidates had been shortlisted namely; Pramod Kr Bajpai (Dir, Fin, BHEL), S K Srivastava (CMD, OIL), A K Purwaha (CMD, EIL), Prabhat Singh (Dir, GAIL), P K Jain (Dir, GAIL), Ashutosh Karnatak (Dir, GAIL), R K Garg (Dir, Finance, LNG Ltd), Rajender Singh (Dir, Tech, LNG Ltd).
