SCOPE and Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) jointly organized the 14th National Workshop on "The Board Interview" in Ahmedabad which concluded on February 21. Atul Chaturvedi, Chairman, PESB inaugurated the workshop. While welcoming, Dr. U.D. Choubey, DG, SCOPE informed that the Board Interview Workshop is one of the most sought after programmes of SCOPE for the CPSEs executives. Over the years, a large number of executives have been groomed as potential leaders to take up the Board level positions. He advocated the need for strong succession planning strategy so that there is no lack of sufficient competent people within the company for top positions. Earlier, while inaugurating the Workshop, Atul Chaturvedi, Chairman, PESB emphasized that knowledge and performance before the Interview Board is the most important aspect for selection over and above the record of the candidate. A. K. Datt, Member, PESB said that potential candidate must learn the art and science of corporate governance and update their knowledge on daily basis. Altogether approx 50 numbers of participants in the rank of ED/GM from Maharatna, Navaratna and other CPSEs participated in the three days workshop on Board level positions.
