New Delhi (10.04.2023): Having clinched the coveted position of Member PESB weeks before her retirement, the outgoing SAIL Chairperson Soma Mondal is all set to get her successor soon. Though SAIL Chairperson post will have an ad-hoc arrangement for a while as a stop gap arrangement, come Wednesday, the top position in SAIL would become clear as PESB is scheduled to hold interview for the post on April 12, 2023.
Altogether nine candidates have been shortlisted for the interview. A section of top officials believes that among the shortlisted candidates, four have fair prospects while the rest are just numbers. Top sources believe that if the selection board goes by competence, cohesion and leadership, a particular candidate may emerge victorious, in case it gives preference to residual service the other candidate would stand fair prospect. It is often said that the residual service gives edge to the person having a bigger tenure.
Further, two more candidates also have brighter chances for their competence and professionalism. But no one knows who will perform how before the selection board and what exactly the selection board is looking for in the successor of Mondal who is set to bid adieu SAIL which covered several milestones during her tenure.
