Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that finally Sarvendra Vikram Bahadur Singh's name may be cleared for the coveted post of Chairman, CBSE, a post which has been lying vacant since December 2014. Singh is currently heading Uttar Pradesh State Council of Educational Research and Training (UPSCERT) SCERT. Three candidate were shortlisted by the Search-cum-selection committee but Singh's name seems to have been considered informally.
If some well placed sources are to be believed the process is almost complete and may be cleared by the ACC in a couple of weeks.
The additional charge of Chairman CBSE is with Y S K Sheshu Kumar (Jt Secretary, HRD) since 29 March 2016. Prior to Kumar Ms Satbeer Silas Bedi (Js, HRD) held the additional charge of Chairman CBSE.
