The IPS Association on Twitter lauded the
spirit and enthusiasm of officers saying “This IPS officer is audacious to the
core as he rubs Naxals where it hurts the most. Kudos @odisha_police DIG
@himanshulalips for entering s cut off area in a #Malkangiri hotbed of Naxals

Jammu and Kashmir is not the only place where anti-India forces are active but
raising the national flag of the country at certain Naxal-infested areas in the
country is equally onerous task but Indian security forces have even been able
to accomplished this as well when they not only stopped Naxal from raising
black flag at Malkangiri district of Odisha but also hoisted national flag in
the cut off district. This has been done when central committee
member R K was hiding in the same area. Himanshu Kumar Lal (IPS:2003:OR), DIG
Odisha police and BSF officers celebrated Independence Day along with villagers
from the 10 nearby panchayat. The villagers not only participated in this
celebration but were also take a resolve to work for the development of the
area. This is being looked upon as an achievement
for the security forces. They have also tried to look for RK who was hiding in
the area but due to heavy presence he seems to have slipped away from the
region still it is being considered a big achievement for the security forces. Security forces have been able to generate
confidence among tribal in the area who were living in fear and were forced to
help armed Naxals out of fear of the gun. The government is now taking
development to their doorsteps, which has forced Naxals in Odisha, Andhra
Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to go on back foot. Security forces are of the view
that Naxalism will be eradicated in these areas very soon as development takes
driving seat.
