New Delhi (21.05.2024): The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) on Tuesday selected Salim G Purushothaman for the post of Director (Operations), Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL). A total 12 people were interviewed. Currently, Purushothaman is Executive Director, Braithwaite & Co. Ltd. The post of Director (Operations) is lying vacant.
The recommendation is subject to the final outcome of the case filed in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh at Amaravati.
Subject to HC’s decision, requisite clearances and ACC approval, Purushothaman will be appointed Director (Operations), RINL.
This is to recall that PESB held the selection meeting for the post on 11.10.2023 also and in compliance to the interim order dated 11.10.2023 of High Court of Andhra Pradesh filed by Dr V R Bapa Rao, the recommendation was not finalized.
Subsequently, Government Standing Counsel opined that “in light of the court’s order dated 11.10.2023, the Board was at liberty to finalize the interview and proceed further”. Hence, Board met again on 21.05.2024 to finalize the recommendation.
