Retired IPS officer Bhaskar Rao quits AAP and joins BJP in Karnataka

Bengaluru (01.03.2023): Bhaskar Rao (Retd IPS: 1990: KN) quit Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and joined the BJP on March 1, 2023 in Bengaluru. Rao had joined AAP last year with an aspiration of contesting the Assembly polls from a constituency in Bengaluru city. However, his terms with party's state convener Prithvi Reddy was not so cordial as there was a tussle between the duo over the state leadership.Rao was also not happy about the recent re-organisation of the state unit as he was made the chairman of the manifesto committee. Rao quit AAP at a time when party's national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to visit Karnataka on March 4 where he will address a rally in Davanagere.
