Lucknow (08.12.2023): Kripa Shankar Saroj (Retd IAS: 1989: PB) is poised to enter the political arena by contesting from the Machhlishahr Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh whether any political party nominates him or not. He would be contesting from Machhlishahr as independent if none of the parties -- the Congress, SP or BSP gives him party ticket.

He retired as Additional Chief Secretary in March this year, Saroj has spent considerable time laying the groundwork in this constituency since 2021. His roots go back to Sonahita village in Jaunpur district while Machhlishahr, a tehsil in Jaunpur district, holds the status of a reserved Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
