Raipur (12.04.2023): Taking cue from the Centre, now state governments too have started re-engaging retired favourite officers for important assignments which are key to ensure grip over administration and serve political interests. In one such move, the Chhattisgarh government took the decision of engaging D M Awasthi (Retd IPS: 1986: CG) as officer on special duty (OSD) at police headquarters in Raipur to look after Economic Offence Wing and Anti Corruption Bureau. Awasthi retired on March 31, 2023 but he was immediately accommodated as OSD on contractual basis. It goes without saying that he is favorite officer of Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel.
