Following an urgent hearing on Sunday on the legality of the formation of Government in Maharashtra the Apex Court has reportedly directed the Central Government
through Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to produce before Court tomorrow at
10.30 am the letters of support on the basis of which the Maha Governor Bhagat
Singh Koshiyari, on Saturday early morning, decided to invite BJP to form
government. The SC bench comprising Justices N V Ramana, Ashok Bhushan
and Sanjiv Khanna ordered: “Issue involved is the Governor's decision dated
23/11/19 inviting them to form government is unconstitutional. For the
adjudication of this issue we request Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to produce
the two letters by tomorrow morning 10.30”. The order was passed after an hour long hearing of Senior
Advocate Mukul Rohatgi (for BJP), Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, Senior
Advocate Kapil Sibal (for Shiv Sena), Senior Advocate Dr A M Singhvi (for NCP).
