The Raman Singh administration has mounted a two-year long Hamar Chhattisgarh campaign to reach out to the people, feel their pulse, and resolve their routine problems on the spot. It would cost about Rs 70 crores and bring to the state capital 1.70 lacs public representatives from across the state. The target is to cover 11,000 Village Panchayats, 111 Nagar Panchayats, 27 Zila Panchayats, 146 janpad Pratinidhis, 11,000 Sarpanchs, 1.5 lac panchs.
Under the campaign, every week 25-30 representatives of a Village Panchayat's are brought to the state capital to visit Vidhan Sabha, CM Secretariat, Stadium, Airport, Energy Park, Science Centre, Bhilai Steel Plant, etc. They are informed of the functioning of the Govt, administration, Assembly proceedings, and rules & regulations of the assembly. They also visit Agriculture University & its museum and given an exposure into latest agricultural methods & tools. Through films and cultural evenings, they are made aware of the state's glorious history & culture.
Whenever convenient, the CM meets the representatives, interact with them, share their aspirations, needs, problems etc. In the case of CM being unavailable, a 3D holographic video of Raman Singh is shown to them which adds to their excitement and exposure to the technological advancement. In addition 'Video Raths', hosting Raman Singh's speeches, are sent regularly to the remote rural.
Further, representatives from each village bring tree saplings and plant them in the upcoming Botanical Garden (named Jungle Safari) being developed in Naya Raipur (new capital of the state). Trees planted are named/tagged after the name of their villages (by putting the nameplate). Panchayat representative also brings water from their villages and pour them into a pond (named Naya Raipur Jheel) centrally located in the Naya Raipur. These aspects have been devised and designed to make them realise that they are all integral part of the govt, governance, and the future of the state being shaped in Naya Raipur.
