New Delhi (05.12.2023): If well-placed sources are to be believed, the Railway Board is all set to get a regular Member, Operations & Business Development (MOBD); the post that fell vacant after the appointment of Jaya Varma Sinha as the first Chairman & CEO of Railway Board. From September 01, 2023, the Member (Ops & BD) post has been with CRB under Look After (Ad hoc) arrangement.

Sources say that the post is kept vacant till the time Satish Kumar’s expected elevation as Member, Railway Board takes place. So, if Satish Kumar gets his due as Member (Traction & Rolling Stock), the New Delhi establishment may consider Seema Kumar (IRTS: 1986) as Member (Operations & Business Development). Currently, she is working as Additional Member (Catering & Tourism) and as a stop gap arrangement also held the additional charge of CMD, IRCTC till Sanjay Kumar Jain’s appointment as a regular CMD.

Having accorded Apex Scale, it is understood that she may be considered for Member post in Railway Board.
