Punjab: 4th DGP likely in less than a year, Bhawra may move at Centre

848Chandigarh (01.07.2022): Punjab DGP VK Bhawra (IPS:1987:PB) has sought a Central deputation. Bhawra has reportedly stated that he has given his consent for a Central posting. With three DGPs in nine months, the slugfest for another DGP has begun. DGP (Prisons) Harpreet Singh Sidhu (IPS: 1992: PB) and DGP-cum-Special Principal Secretary to the CM, Gaurav Yadav (IPS: 1992: PB), are the front runners for the post if Bhawra, like Dinkar Gupta, proceeds on leave in case the AAP government decides to replace him.
