New Delhi (22.10.2024): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has given her approved to increase the number of posts of Chief General Manager in Nationalised Banks to 144 from 80. The number of General Manager (GM) posts has been revised from 440 to 576, the number of Deputy GM posts from 1320 to 1728 and number of assistant GM posts from 3960 to 5184. These additional vacancies will take effect from April 1, 2025 and posts will be filled in staggered manner.“Post enhancement at the senior management level will lead to increased oversight and will result in better identification and mitigation of risks, especially in complex financial environment,” the Finance Ministry said in a statement.
