Prof Manoj Pant on Monday appointed as Director, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Delhi. He has been teaching Trade Theory in the Centre for International Trade and Development, School of International Studies, JNU for more than two decades.
Prof Pant replaces Binoy Kumar who took over as Director IIFT following the resignation of Surajit Mitra (Retd IAS:1977:AM) in November 2016; eight months prior to completion of his tenure.
Prof Pant, was expert member of the Ministry of Commerce group on Environmental issues in the WTO. He also served as a a member of the technical committee of the Ministry of Human Resource Development for WTO and trade in Educational Services.
IIFT, an autonomous public business school established in 1963 by the Government of India (Ministry of Commerce and Industry) to help professionalise the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources; generating, analysing and disseminating data; and conducting research.
